Professionally, I'm an evolutionary ecologist and professor of biology at Boston University, recruited by Jelle in 1994. I study coral reefs, tropical great lakes, fisheries, and aquatic systems ecology more generally. A lot of my effort is spent doing conservation science. When that doesn't work out so well, as is often the case, I take refuge in nature, music, and friends. Jelle was several of those.
